Host a Western Section Meeting
The Western-ASPB section is huge. It includes all continental
US states west of the eastern borders of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New
Mexico, Hawaii and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and
Saskatchewan. Our annual western section meetings are generally scheduled
in the Winter. This year's meeting, however, will be held in April.
In any case, we have attempted to move the meeting locations around within the
section so that they will periodically be convenient for all of the
members. Unfortunately our Alaska and Hawaii members will automatically
be far away from most meeting locations. The last three meetings were in
Reno, NV, Davis, CA and Orem, UT and this year's meeting will be in Tucson, AZ.
We are now trying to identify hosts/locations for the next several
Winter (or Spring) WS-ASPB meetings. Members from all parts of the
section are invited to volunteer. However, because we are eager to move
the meetings around, we are particularly inviting members from the Pacific NW
(OR, WA, BC and Alberta), the Northwest (MT, WY, ID and Saskatchewan), Southern
California , and the San Francisco Bay Area to volunteer. The task is not
so difficult. The central ASPB headquarters in Rockville can provide very
useful help with advertising and registration services, we have guidelines and
help available from recent hosts and the section leadership, and the Section's
finances are strong. If you are interested in hosting a WS-ASPB meeting
at your location, please contact the Section chair, John Labavitch.
