Spring Meeting Review
The Winter Dinner Meeting is held in February to coincide
with the winter ASPB Executive Committe Meeting, such that the current ASPB
President is the invited after-dinner speaker at the meeting.
The Spring Research Meeting features oral presentations by
students and plant science research professionals, and includes a MAS President's
Symposium with invited speakers in the President's research field. Student presentations
are judged in competition for the Marsho Award, in remembrance of the late Tom
Marsho, and winners receive full access to the Society's two journals, The
Plant Cell and Plant Physiology.
The best-attended meeting of the year is usually the Crab Feast, held at the ASPB headquarters at the Gude Estate in Rockville, MD, featuring hot, spiced Maryland crabs, free-flowing beer and dancing to music provided by members Ellen and Al Torzilli of George Mason University, and their hot band, Natural Selection.
