Abstract Book

The Annual Meeting of the Midwestern Section of the ASPB will take place on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30, on the campus of Iowa State University. The talks will be at Hoover Hall, room 2055. Poster session and meals will be in the Atrium of Howe Hall (across the street, there is a skywalk between the two building). There is parking available for free during weekends all over campus (maps are available on the ISU website).

The local organizer is Gustavo MacIntosh. To register, please email Gustavo MacIntosh the registration form by March 21, 2008. The registration fee is $30 for students, $60 for faculty and staff. You can pay for your registration (check or cash only) at the meeting.

On Thursday and Friday prior to the MWASPB meeting, ISU hosts the Loomis lecture and minisymposium. No registration is needed for that event.

Abstracts
Authors should follow the following guidelines:

•           The body of your abstract cannot exceed 1,800 characters (including spaces).
•           One presentation per person as first author
•           DO NOT include any graphics or tabular material in the body of your abstract.
•           Proofread your abstract, double-checking any special characters.
•           Select up to three topic categories from the list on the ASPB abstract submission webpage
•           Indicate whether you would like to give an oral or a poster presentation (We will try to accommodate you preference).
•           Indicate whether you are an undergraduate student, a graduate student, or a postdoc.
•           The submission deadline is March 1, 2008. After that time we cannot guarantee inclusion in the program.
•           Send the abstract to Susanne Hoffmann-Benning

We will send confirmations of abstracts that have been received every Friday and on March 3rd. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us.

LODGING

At this point 30 rooms have been reserved at the Memorial Union on campus. The rate for rooms (same for single or double) is $73/night. Attendees can get the room up to 2 weeks in advance. After that, the hotel will release the reservation. The group name is "MWASPB"
