Plant Physiology® Upcoming Focus Issues

Plant Interactions with Bacterial Pathogens (August 2009)
Guest Editors: Pamela Ronald and Martha C. Hawes
Submission Deadline: April 1, 2009

This issue will focus on mechanisms of recognition as well as bacterial and plant molecules mediating the interactions. Research articles reporting on all areas of plant-bacterial interactions, including from gene expression to proteomics to biochemistry, will be considered. A set of targeted update articles on important areas of research will be solicited.

Legumes (November 2009)
Guest Editors: Carroll Vance, Mark O'Brian, and Kate VandenBosch
Submission Deadline: July 1, 2009

This issue will cover all aspects of Legume biology, including genomics, model legumes, interactions with microorganisms, nutrient acquisition and metabolism, regulation, signaling, development, natural variation, and response to global climate change and other abiotic effects.

Plant Systems Biology (February 2010)
Guest Editors: Jacques Joyard and Sheila McCormick
Submission Deadline: October 1, 2009

This issue will cover many different aspects of plant science, ranging from collections of physiological data with quantified molecular parts lists (e.g. genes, expression levels, localizations) to abstract mathematical modeling of biological processes. Research articles that provide mechanistic insight into the regulation and function of complex systems in diverse areas of plant biology and/or interactions of plants with other organisms will be considered.
