Cell
Division Regulation
|

|
|
| In proliferating cells, cell growth is coupled
with cell division. The most fundamental functions of
the cell division process are the precise replication
of chromosomes and their subsequent distribution to daughter
cells. These events are controlled by protein kinases
and proteases, which have been identified in plants as
well as in better-studied models (e.g., animals and yeast).
Although functional characterization of these regulatory
proteins is not complete, initial observations indicate
that they function in similar ways in plants and other
organisms but may be regulated differently. |
