ASPB Election Results

Dear ASPB Member:

It is my pleasure to announce the results of the Society’s 2009 election. When ASPB’s next governance year begins on October 1, 2009, Nicholas Carpita (Purdue University) will become president-elect; Judy Callis (University of California) will become secretary and chair of the program committee; and Marguerite (Rita) Varagona (Monsanto Company) will join the ASPB Executive Committee as an elected member. Additionally, Murray R. Badger (Australian National University) and William J. Davies (Lancaster University) were elected corresponding members of ASPB.

My hearty congratulations to all of the newly elected, and my profound thanks to Danny Schnell, Steve Huber, and Shiv Tiwari, all of whom generously offered their time and energy by agreeing to run in the elections! Thank you, too, to those members who took time to consider the candidates and to vote in this year’s elections.
